One hosting service is not the same as another.  The reliability, security, flexibility scalability and compliance of the hosting service depends on the facility used, the infrastructure products deployed, the skills employed and the practices put in place.

Data Centre Facility

C Infinity chose to use one of the best data centres in Europe.  Data Electronics was recently recognised as the second best data centre in Europe.  The facility isISO 9001:2008 approved and has the rare claim of having a 100% record, having had no outages since they opened the doors in 2001.

Our infrastructure includes:

  • A+B power and networking into every rack – which we continue to every server
  • Multiple redundant generators
  • 24 *7 onsite presence with access control lists, biometric controls and video cameras on every row
  • Armed and maintained fire detection and suppression systems

C Infinity takes these principles and follows them through to every rack, server and appliance in our infrastructure.

Network Infrastructure

C Infinity has chosen to implement Cisco routers, firewalls and switches throughout our network.  Designed and managed by a Cisco CCIE, there is A+B networking throughout the infrastructure.  This gives each server 2 redundant paths to and from the Internet to eliminate outages should a network appliance fail.  Support contracts are in place with Cisco for rapid replacement of any failed appliances.

All hosted services are protected by Cisco ASA firewalls.  Our commitment to best practices means that we don’t consider security to be an option; it’s a necessity.  All hosted services prices include protection by our firewalls.

Network Management

With the ever increasing complexity in IT, things fail.  We do our best to minimise this but there is that possibility.  How do you want to find out about a fault or a performance issue?  Do you want to get a notification that a customer is no longer going to subscribe to your services or would you prefer to be immediately alerted about it, knowing that your hosting partner is already working on the solution?

Without management you have no idea how reliable your systems are.  That’s why C Infinity has deployed a complete management system.  Designed and managed by a Microsoft MVP and a Cisco CCIE, we monitor every aspect of the infrastructure that we can discover for health and performance issues.  This can be use for performance monitoring for planning reasons, SLA reporting or even engineered to detect specific application or service issues.
